It can be annoying at times, for sure. Trying to make male Lilacs is a pain in the derriere, since they are chocolate and blue.

So lilac in muscovy is like muave in chickens?

Not first generation, no. But they can be used for second and subsequent.

Blue works the same way as with chickens and is a co-dominant, except two blues may give you silvers instead of splash.

Yeah, if I moved the barred along. I don't have the space for a second space to have 2 males. I guess I'll just watch and see how he behaves. If he's mean, he'll be gone. I ain't dealing with a 15 pound hellfire that thinks he's a dinosaur

As far as I'm concerned, since the Barred markings pretty much disappear after their juvenile feathers, it just isn't worth it for me to concentrate on those. Wish I had Rippled though, that pattern stays.

As for males, I like a high number of those since that means more meat for the freezer, but otherwise, I find them to be friendlier than the females towards me. And even with my grossly over-ratio'd male/female numbers right now, mine have been fairly good to the girls.

Yeah, I'm supposed to be processing my extra males too... But then something always happens like, one is my daughter's (even though she doesn't take care of him, I do, or even look at him), one is my boyfriend's (again, I'm the one taking care of him, but at least it's because it's a long-distance relationship!), one is my favourite, etc...

I'm trying to sell my extra chocolate drake, and have had a few nibbles but no takers yet. I'll process him before I give him away.

Yeah, I know. My chickens at least do much better if they grow up together or one grows up under the other more than just adding a new male. I've never been able to just add new males after they start with hormones

Processed one of my sexlinks and an extra araucana today. Both had deceiving sizes with their breastsm totally thought the sexlink would be the one worth fully processing, turns out it was the smaller araucana. He weighed less, but the breasts were the same size as the larger sexlink

I find it very interesting that the Delaware cockerels have so much more frame than CX but about the same amount of meat.

It certainly shows that looks can be deceiving. Makes me rethink which extra araucana to keep. I have one running around that's very large, and he was destined for the table, but he might be the better one to keep
