Larkwell Valley (2023)

Same here. Especially Moose. I adore him, but he's, well, a moose. He's even bigger than big Boy, which I thought was impossible for a duck or chicken to do.View attachment 3631278View attachment 3631279View attachment 3631280
@Canadian Wind , would he be considered chocolate or black? He's not as light as the girls or other male was, bit he looked like a dark chocolate as a baby

The lighting makes it difficult to tell, but I would say that's black.

Also, the one at the top, with the dark tail, is Barred. :)

What colour are the parents?

Jacin
Had a muscovy running around with 9 ducklings when I went to do chores today. Didn't even know I had one setting. Tried to minimize them this year but those muscovy girls are determined.
Trying to cut way back and mostly just focus on lavenders and barred lavenders and a little bit with chocolates.
Looks like all 9 of the babies are lavender or barred or both. Bonus
Wish I knew someone with Lavender in Canada!!! That, and Ripple. I just can't find any here.

Grats (?) on the babies, lol. Yes, trying to stop them is not easy! They are tricksy little hobbitses.

Oh my gosh, you're right. I had the wrong baby in mind.

I don't know the parents, these were 4 of the ones I have now. Kinda. I lost the two pure whites early on

Naked neck mama was mad last night. It was drizzling all night so I moved her and the (still, so amazing that she hasn't lost one yet) 10 babies into the shed last night. She was keeping babies dry, hut where she was couldn't keep her dry at all and she was already pretty wet when I put everyone away

Getting the last two latches for the doors today. Then I can seperate out all the cockerels that need to go. Can't do them all at once, but it will still be noticeable on the number of ones that go outside. Still debating on the orange spitz mix, so he'll stay out a bit longer. Main goal is Golden Child's (who hatched another 8 last week) sons. A couple will stay for a project, but most can't

Looks like you have two whites in there, the one with the black spot on it's head will probably turn out full white (all of mine like that do). I'm in the same boat for parentage. I never got to separating them this year, so no idea who made who. I'm especially curious as to the Lilac and Lilac Barred that turned up. I don't have any Blue Barred drakes although possibly two of them could be split. Pretty sure my Chocolate drake is split Barred, as are/were my two Choc hens (sold one of them). I have one Blue hen, but she probably isn't.

I hope I can split them up better this Spring. I want to do some more planned breeding as opposed to chaos!

Certainly got me to realize I don't need geese, at least right now

I still want geese, or at least one. Boyfriend is opposed, but until he decides to move to Canada, it's MY show. :lau
