Lash Egg or Something Else??? Help!!

I thought the same thing, til I pulled down her wattle and popped it in her mouth...................gone!!!!
Ok, lol its just freaking me out…but then i have seen them gobble snakes, frogs, and mice WHOLE…and here I am worried about a little pill…so maybe I am overthinking??!! I got the petites pills and theyre supposed to be smaller lol. 🤦‍♀️

@Wyorp Rock I may be overthinking here but I got some of this Calcium Citrate and these tablets seem enormous. Can she choke on these? Should I break in half? Crush? Etc?

If you have the Petites, give her 2 pills which will equal 400mg.

Yes, you can just pop a tablet right into the beak, they can swallow it just fine. If you wish, the tablet can be broken in 1/2. The main thing is getting the Calcium into her.
I'd give her 300mg Calcium Citrate+D3 for 7 days, just pull down on her wattles and pop the tablet right into the beak, let go of the wattles and let her swallow.

Thank you! Once I gave it to her and realized how far her beak opens, that made a difference. I did give her two since they’re only 200mg each, probably should have got the bigger ones but I was nervous about tablet size. She did spit it back out a few times but I managed to get her to take them. 😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨 Ill get better at it lol. Thank you again!!!!

Practice makes perfect!
Once you get the hang of it, it's not too bad, and she'll get used to it too.

I was also nervous the first time I gave one of these tablets. Fear not, the little dinosaurs swallow them just fine. I have one that likes to always spit it out also the first time I pop it in her mouth. The second time I place it in she swallows it. Others just swallow it immediately.

Definitely easier now that I have done it a few times. I have watched them gobble mice and frogs whole lol my husband helps I hold her beak open and he pops in the pill. Takes a little time to get the technique down lol

Friday update, she has had two more of these “egg balls” I will call them. I found in the poop board under her roost spot, one last night and she had one Tuesday night too. I am sure of where she was roosting because I give her the calcium pills on the roost so I know where she was. She seems perfectly normal otherwise, eating and drinking fine. She is out and about this morning. Is this going to be one of those wait and see type things? She may never be “normal” again, etc?

Yes, unfortunately, it is one of those wait and see type of things.

Possible she may never lay a normal egg, it can be really hard to know and that's always the pits.

Thank you! That is the hard part to accept. But I will make sure she is as happy as possible at least. She definitely goes through the motions, she sat in a nest box about a half hour (the favorite box) and caused a lot of drama in the coop lol. Its as if she is going to lay an egg but there is never anything under her. I appreciate the reply. Thank you again.

@aking19 - This is what happened with our Golden Comet who never laid an egg. We went the calcium route early in what should have been her egg laying career when she started to lay on the nest, but it never helped which we discovered much later as to why. She would attempt to lay and then eventually gave up going to the nests which is when we realized she was going to simply be a pet chicken. She lived her best life as chicken leader until she couldn't. She trained two sets of pullets for us, where to find the bugs, where to find the best greens, how to return to the run upon calling, maintaining order etc. Even without eggs, they provide so much value to the flock.
Best of luck, I hope you're not faced with the same situation.
