Is this considered a lash egg?? If not any ideas what it could be?? Thank you!

Look like an egg yolk. Sometime the follicles rupture badly and you get a bloody egg yolk (with or without a shell). Lash eggs are mostly cheesy pus material that sometimes have some egg material inside. Do you know if that broke inside her or when it hit the ground? If it broke inside her or she has been having laying issues in general she might need some antibiotics.

So she has been having this issue I would say pushing two months now where she has the stringy membrane things she “lays” (not worms) and then sometimes a tiny little clump similar to the reddish brown part you see on the pic above. She just got off a course of antibiotics and produced this. I’ve been told she’s dealing with salpingitis and lash eggs (no actual tests speculation on what’s been happening) but when I research pictures of lash eggs they just don’t appear to be this. I just wanted to get others opinions.

Try giving her extra calcium for a 7 days to see if it helps. You can find Calcium Citrate with D3 in the vitamin aisle of stores like Walmart, CVS, etc. Give 1 tablet daily, just pull down on her wattles, pop the tablet into the beak and let her swallow.

Sorry you're dealing with this. Reproductive issues are tough and there is often no easy cure (or any cure).

I'm not a vet, but the only thing that looks sort of like lash material to me in the photo in the pinkish, off-white bit next to the blood spot. Beyond antibiotics and extra calcium there is not much you can do, unfortunately. If you have the money and a good vet, you could try a suprelorin implant to stop her laying for a few months and see if that helps her heal/reset, but it would be a long, long shot.

Hard to tell - did you happen to cut it open? Really need to see the inside to be sure.

Also if she was already on antibiotics then even if this is lash material, she likely has a viral infection (vs bacterial) and viral salpingitis cannot be treated.

So sorry your hen is going through this. Just wanted to add my voice to: doesn't look like a lash egg, but something else.

Does she have vent gleet?
