Last 3 days in incubator for newbie

2 more in lockdown but their air sac area is quite small. should i assist day 21?
Not unless they are in big trouble. The air cell grows quite a bit and is drawn down after lockdown so they may have no problem at all. We try to make sure it's at a certain size for lockdown to give them the "optimal" chance for hatch, but that does not mean that if our preconceived notion of "optimal" is not reached they will have problems. So, unless they are in distress after the pip, there is nothing that can be done. You can not enter an unpipped shell to "remove" a chick and think that it is saveable. The chance of not killing it because it is not ready, especially vascularly and pulmonarily is low . There is a point where even if the chick is in trouble, there is not much you can do because nature hasn't prepared it for hatch. Without these preparations any attempt to help is USUALLY futile.

one laying chook (not sure of breed) and 1 tailed araucana x polish due to hatch tomorrow. My incubator was up to 39 degrees celsius when i got home from lunch. No idea how long for. Cooled the eggs and candled and there was definate movement in the large eggs (huge eggs almost looks only 2 3rds occupied lol) but i cant see well enough in the green araucana egg to tell plus its a small eggs so is quite full. :-( i hope they're ok.

Had my dates wrong. They are due tomorrow. Have my fingers crossed they hatch due to an aircell not much bigger than its meant to be 7-10 days
