Last hatchers of the 2012 season

That sure is a cute little guy

An excellent finish! (hey, isn't that winespeak?)

Toes are straight,,the two youngest opal b/s chicks have showed it where the water and feed is,,and it doesn't need cigar rolled,,I zip tied both legs together overnight while having both feet taped as well and this morning cut the zip tie off and an hour later it was up walking around.I trimmed some of the toe tape away so it's feet wasn't as large as a ducks foot and now it's happier than a clam.Last egg put in the bator, and it made it,making my 2012 a good ending.Yoda,,do keep us updated on your late hatchers,,,maybe we should start knitting them a sweater now?? Or start a collection for the supplemental heat they will need? These last 3 I hatched will be inside the house for several weeks yet. They are way behind size wise of the others I have kept. Here is the toe taped wonder.
Aww what a pretty baby, do post more photos when ya get time.
How cold is it at your place now? we have been getting down in the 70's, i have my new peas outside, only one i worry about but he has been getting under the light with the guinea keets when it gets to cold after he tries to roost on the outside the older peas, i named him Sidney

Zazouse,we've had 3 killing frosts here now, garden is a wreck.Easy to find those last melons for the peas tho.Got down to 34 a few nights ago.Yes,this newest addition will be inside for a long, long time.My other 3 groups of peas has adjusted to pens inside my garage with a 100 watt heatlite inside each pen for them.My oldest group I suppose should get moved again,,but I need to sell some of the Bronze and pieds,,,then they won't be so crowded.
New2,,I have 2 bottles of Eiswine left,,,closest holiday is Thanksgiving,,much too long to stay away from the "grape" here.Maybe me and Semester here will have to pop the cork some nite alone.

I like the thought of you and Semester sitting together over a glass of vino (maybe Semester will have his in a little saucer), just relaxing and reflecting on the meaning of life...

How old are the bronze?

My 1st 2 Bronze hatched May 30th (my b-day),,,another 2 June 3rd at 10am,,and 4pm,,next 1 was June 24th,6:45pm,,then June26th at noon,,all my Bronze are in my first brooder.I will keep each weeks hatch inside for 3 weeks, then they go outside so depending on how many hatch many times I would have 3-4 weeks of hatched chicks all together, then move out 1 group per week to keep making room for new ones. These I have left are from my first hatched.
New2,,your phrase has me in the mood to take a picture,,stay tuned!!

I had a charcoal egg hatch today (Thursday). Here are some pics of him/her. Looks to be a pied to me hope it's a male

Now for the bad news. I had 2 eggs that were suppose to hatch, both charcoal. I always candle the eggs when they are due to pip to be sure there is infact movement inside the egg. The last time I candled was on day 10. Well I went to check the second egg and a fly landed on my hand and I thought it was a bee and dropped the egg, ok more like tossed it. It landed on the rack and another egg. The egg had the biggest hole in it I have ever seen and I had no band aid big enough to cover the hole. There was movement so I thought I could use a cotton gauze pad and wet it and taped it to the egg but unfortunately the chick died. I have not touched the other egg it landed on because there doesn't seem to have any damage to it and if there is a crack I do not want it to ooze cause then I will not have any hope for it. If I smell anything then I will toss the egg but until then I will leave it be. Hopefully I did not kill 2 chicks cause of a freakin BUG!

BACK TO SOME GOOD NEWS AGAIN!
I finally got my pea sign today at the New England fair called the Big E. Gotta show it off so here it is:

I still have 4 eggs to hatch in my incubator!
