My husband and I made Kettle Corn as a "K" date - we are doing dates that go through the alphabet! One was pumpkin spice and the other was tajin seasoning. It turned out pretty okay, but we think that the sugar would spread more nicely if we use the Wok instead of a pot, and perhaps salt should be added to the sugar mixture, instead of trying to sprinkle it on afterwards.

Alphabet dates! I love it! What did you do for A-J?

Wow! What's it like being close to the water?
Most of the time it's just kind of... there?

We get a lot of wind and often the rain tastes like salt. Not being able to see the sea in at least one direction is unusual here. Not being able to see the sea or get a sense of where it is because you can see Hoy (the tallest island) even more so. When I lived on one of the other islands here, on stormy days you'd have to check the wind direction and tide times before going out in case they closed the road off the island. I collect grit from a spot on the beach where it usually contains a good amount of broken up shells and give that to the chickens, rather than paying for grit or oyster shell.

Oh boy, I'd have to dredge up my memories. XD I think some of them loosely counted because of the names of certain local restaurants we went to. For D we went to Dillards and looked at the Dogs at the pet shop, and for F we went to Five Guys for Fries on a Friday night. C was a Chinese buffet, I think.
In addition to the Kettle Corn, we did non-K things, like eat local woodfired pizza, watch Tokyo Drift, and had frozen custard from a Culver's (I made mine into a float). It was great!
Edit: I think we went and watched a Hockey little league for H!

What a great way to spend time with each other!

It really is! We've been loving it a lot. I am looking forward to figuring out baby friendly versions next year after we have our son in Jan. 😂 Might be a little bit complicated, but maybe that'll make it more fun.

How exciting! I look forward to seeing lots of baby pictures and hearing about your new dates!
