Last shred of hope...Fertile or Infertile???

With our beautiful brown leghorn rooster having passed, these eggs are the last of his genes and we’re wondering if the eggs are fertile. I cracked one of the more recent ones and it is difficult for me to tell. Hoping the other four may be viable if this one is. Thoughts??? Firtile or Infertile???

We aren't really sure what happened exactly. We came home and he was dead. There didn't appear to be any real struggle...just some blood droplets scattered about. He was very handsome and took good care of the hens.

If you were thinking of incubating the other eggs, I’d do it anyway! He was a beauty! Sorry you lost him.

That egg looks fertilized from the bullseye, but the only way to know if it is viable is to incubate it and see if it grows and will hatch. Since there's no way to know if it's viable yet, I would try to hatch some of them. Worse case scenario, there won't be a growing embryo when you candle them a week or two later. Best case, you get some offspring from your dearly departed little buddy.
