Last unread post not working right

I am trying to follow several threads that I am WAY behind on, mostly because I'm weird and don't skip ahead, so I use the last unread post thing to pop me back in wherever I left off. In one thread however (it has happened in many, I just know where I was in this one) I should be in the mid 1100's but if I click the last unread post button it takes me to the mid 2500's and halfway down a page... so I am having to write down page numbers on a sticky note and manually go to the correct page to start reading. Some of them weren't that dramatic and with some serious searching I could find where I was again, but it had magically popped me about 30 pages ahead...

Any ideas as to why this is behaving like this?

Do you use the little black dot in your unread watched list to get back to the last page of posts that you read?

<Gasp> That black button means something?! I had no idea!

Never played with the button but do know if I haven't been on a thread for quite a while, when I click on the title, it will take me way back to the first post of a thread (instead of where I left off).

....OMG, that little black dot has been my savior! You really have to try it sometime Debby! I have clicked on some thread titles and they don't take me to my last post, but where I last left off?

As for the OPs issue, I think Yorkshire Coop may be on to something here.

Yes it means something! It takes you to the first page of your last unread in the thread. If you don’t have time to read everything it’s great for going back to where you left off.

I like it too Leyla As long as you don’t read the last page of posts in the thread or accidentally click on a page number further along it’s great.

Getting up at 3:30am does make for a foggy morning! But that means I can have a nap before noon

Okay, I am confused, I thought clicking on the bolded blue thread title was the same as clicking on the dot.
