late hatchers come hatch along with us setting nov 12 to nov 20

YEAH!! I missed the November group and was bummed, glad I found another group!!

We ordered 24 eggs from MPC, we received 26 marked eggs(never thought our assortment would be marked-so happy about that). We have 9 Rhode Island Reds, 6 Blue Andalusian, 6 Silver Spangled Hamburgs, 4 Blue Ameraucanas(not EE), and 1 Wheaten Ameraucanas.

We also added 10 of our backyard eggs to fill the third carton since we are incubating anyway, mostly barred rock and some production red x barred rock mix(we only have a barred rock roo).

Hoping for great results for the kiddos!

Hi guys, can I join in? I have 12 Marans in black, blue & splash due 11/23, 11 Black Copper Marans due on 11/28 and 12 Buff Barred Bantam Cochins, 1 White Cochin & 1 Splash Cochin due on 12/4. Oh the suspense!!! I had a good hatch rate with my own Sussex but these were mailed. I only have a Little Giant incubator with a fan and an automatic egg turner and today is day 18 for the first batch. Yikes! Do you think I should take out the turner and start hand turning the other 2 batches? I was planning to get another one but time got away from me. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Yikes! Well it's not good to turn eggs after 18 days. If you can hand turn the others without letting out too much humidity and heat, that might work. I'm just worried that they might get shrink-wrapped. You can always P.M. Me if you have any problems.

Oh yay!
So this is my first time incubating eggs. I just set 9 cayuga eggs - 6 fresh & 3 that are a lil old & were in fridge for a few days(my experiment to see if anything will come of them)
should hatch the evening of Dec17th give or take depending on what their plans are lol. & next week I will be putting in some of my chicken eggs to hatch along with them!
Those should be pretty interesting-> RIR hen x BTW Japanese Bantam roo & I believe my other girls that are laying( barred rock & NH) are also 'bowing' down to my mini roos

I swear the first time I caught two of them in the act... I thought my little roo was having a seizure!!!!!!! Then I noticed the "ground" he was 'seizing' on was my newest RIR!!!!!!!!!!
Dirty girls....

Your mini roos must like their women big.

Problem solved. I read on someone's post that you can pop out a row from the automatic turner, so I popped out 2 rows. I'm not sure they are ever going back in..... but it works for now. the humidity will be set too high for the second and third batch but only for a few days. So,,, fingers are crossed and although I am already thankful for what I have, I would be really thankful for a great hatch on Thanksgiving!

Just be careful and make sure the chicks don't get crushed under the motor, or the other racks as they turn. You could take the chicks out of the incubator as soon as the umbilical cord detaches from there bellies and the egg.
