Late hatching.

Hello, my duck eggs are on day 29 today they are in an incubator. When I candle the eggs I can see that the ducklings have burst the air sack and are moving around, but haven't pipped yet. What should I do?

Once the oxygen becomes low and the C02 high in the air cell the ducking should then externally pip the shell.

My ducks hatched a couple days late too. Even with a broody! Give them some time and see what happens.

Day 31 still no external pips. When should I assist?

2 of my Muscovy have been sitting on 6 eggs now for 42 days. 2 didn’t make it. Threw them out today. 1 just picked its beak through the egg shell and another has lots of movement going on (assuming another beak through shell soon). 2 others….well I think they’re bad, but I’ll wait.

yes, they have internally pipped about 24 hours ago.
