I live in a desert so I know we won't have a lot of rain, that's understood and we rely on the snow melt and underground rivers for our water, so we conserve. What I can't understand is how the county can change desert land to an agricultural zoning and allow a rancher to plant 100,000 pistacio trees. That's just one. There's another that has planted over 80 acres in pistacio's and we've had several that already have them. I wonder what happens when we run out of water? They may be drought tolerant but they still require so many gallons of water a week to produce nuts.
Another storm coming in tonight. I hope it snows in the mountains and we get a little rain. I guess I can wait on my yarn if it does. Well, I'm off here to make fudge, peppermint bark and no bake cookies and then I can finish my grandsons quilt. Hope everyone has a good day.
