Katsdar-I had planned to finish up today but hubby had to pull an unexpected 3rd shift so I had to be very quiet today:) Got the boxes, plan to finish tomorrow and ship by Monday. I start a job next week so perfect timing!

Congrats on your new job, and I totally understand about having to be quiet, seems to me the more you try the more noise I make anyway, and your fine some of our ladies needed extra time too.

Shamblescross, Kimmie6067, and Rockingbearanch, could you please let me know where you are at with this swap, just trying to keep things updated we still have time so I'm not trying to rush you.
Thanks
Kat

I didn't know you had cortunix quial....sell me some or some eggs??? We love them, and had them until the little DD didn't cose the door right. ( We also had two cats who have since become garage and barn kitties).

I finished up yesterday. These have been the most fun. I used the ladder design to make "flower beds in Spring" according to what I learned in an art class on color theory.

wow how pretty, I can't wait to get all the blocks and lay them out and see how I'm going to put them together,

Question: I can not find anyone around me that has ever had or has made homemade egg noodles, my grandmother taught me when I was a kid and I was just wondering if you ladies sometimes make them? I'm getting ready to make them. I had some extra eggs so I made some mayonnaise, the yolks were so orange that my finished product looks lemony very pretty and Easterly.

I make homemade noodles all the time. My basic receipe (which can be doubled or tripled, but small batches are easier) is:
1 c. flour
1 egg
water or milk to moisten extra as needed
pinch of salt

I put the flour in a small bowl, and make a well in the center. Drop in a whole egg, about 1 Tb of liquid and the salt. Mix by hand until dough is all moistened and a bit sticky. Flour your counter (or whatever) and flour a rolling pin. Put the dough on the flour, toss some flour on it, and knead it a few times. Now, roll it out to desired thickness. Either flour and roll up dough and cut 1/4 - 1/2" noodles and unroll to dry, or cut with a floured pizza cutter into noodle lengths, or 1 x 2" german style dumplings. I like to dry mine overnite or all day, and then cook in chicken broth (what else) or maybe beef/turkey/duck/rabbit/deer etc broth and meat..... (I add loads of pepper)

You can also add carrot juie or spinach juice or v8 for the liquid in noodles to add flavor or color. My mom likes to add spinach, and I like fresh ground black pepper. Lemon zest is also a nice touch with chicken.....

I'm finished. I did the last block while dinner was cooking in the oven. 8 of my blocks are a different pattern than the others due to the fact I am using up some of my stash and didn't have enought fabric to do them all alike. The others are a Split Rail fence pattern. I'll try to take pix tomorrow to post. The original pattern I started is called Aunt Dinah's block

I am down to two quail. I hope to buy more this spring from the local feed store. Someone locally sells babies every year. Mine have never set eggs although they laid eggs. If I get some I'll let you know.

Well, I made two batches of noodles, and they are drying. now off to bed, I think.
