I've learned that if something gets lost in postal zone you could still get it- months later! One of dh's direct deposit pay stubs for a company he no longer worked for showed up in our box almost 8 months after the post marked date. It looked like coffee had been spilled on it, dried out and also had mold all over it. My post office said that was how they got it in their office that morning and that there was no way it could have gotten dropped in the floor of the mail car and kicked under a seat because 'they thoroughly check each car every day.' Nothing they could do about condition of it. I do hope you get the other blocks soon and hopefully NOT in the condition our postal zone mishap returned our lost mail.

Well we could wash out the coffee, it would be nice if they would show up. I have asked at the PO and they are supposed to go to the return address on the envelop if they can't deliver it to the correct address, guess time will tell.

Came home tonight and got a surprise. One of the eggs in the incubator had hatched at 19 days. It's from my Old English Game Hen and is platinum in color. No more pips though but they aren't due to hatch until Friday or Staurday

wow what a nice surprise, guess he wanted to make sure he got the worm, "early bird gets the worm" he is taking it to the extreme.

Now I have five baby chicks. Three are the Old Game Hens and two are from a full size hen and I don't know which one. The eggs are brown but all my full size hens lay brown eggs but one so will have to wait and see. They're still wet but they're taking on a grey cast so that might help. My rooster is a silkie/maran and he has lots of colors on him. I don't have a grey hen but they'll change color anyway so time will tell.

It's a shame when things get lost in the mail that way. Like it was said earlier, someone may have a quilt. My DH is a Mason and on the first Wed. of the month there is always a dinner. I am usually asked to bring either deviled eggs or a dessert. Last month I took two custard pies that I made from a recipe that is over 100 years old. It's a good recipe and I had enough eggs to make two pies. After the dinner one pie was gone so I brought my pie plate home but the other was half eaten so left it for anyone that wanted it, figuring the guys would want a snack after their meeting. My husband came home saying he couldn't find my pie pan anywhere and I've been to the Lodge and looked myself. It isn't there so whoever enjoyed the last of my pie took my pie pan home with them and didn't return it. Darn! It was a good pyrex one too.

I really hate that someone got your pie pan I have some pyrex pans and they are good ones, do share your recipe for the custard pies.

I will be glad to share. Will add it after my company leaves. They'll be here this afternoon and will leave Sunday. Oh! I checked this morning and I have a baby parakeet in the nest and two more eggs. The other nest box has four eggs. Finches are setting on eggs also. I love Spring......
