Laundry - is a dirty subject!

When I had to get a new washing machine I got the whirlpool He front loader. The only problem was that the buttons on the panel were all in spanish The store was laughing their socks off, they thought I was reading the manual in spanish & told me to read the english version. I had to repeat my story to 4 people. I washed everything in Delicato until I had a chance to go to the store to match up & translate the panel to english. It took them 3 weeks to get me a english panel machine. Good luck

What is LG frontloader???????

I have a 16 year old stack washer and dryer, Kenmore brand and it is the best I've had so far but it is starting to show wear and tear. The clothes are not getting as clean as it used to be and slow or after spin cycle, there is still water in it. I have to wash clothes twice at each time and the "twister" is still doing the job. Takes a little longer to dry too. We cleaned out the ducts but still it didn't get dry so all my drying takes 70 to 90 minutes each load.

My mother has the Kenmore front loader and she loves hers. However for me being on a budget, I dont know how much different between the front loader and top loader would be. One thing I will not buy is those pull tab buttons, I ended up having to take a screwdriver and pop that button to activate the cycles. UGH!

What are the life span of those washing machines??????? 16 years is a long time and it may not be effecient as it used to be. Maybe next year with our income tax, we will look into the washer dryer. This time it will not be stackable because what if one thing goes out and the other side works?????? easier to replace one or the other. This stackable was perfect for my very small 2 bedroom house I used to own and I didnt ahve a family at that time.

LG is the brand name. Kenmore products seem to be good dependable ones.

When we had our dryer serviced they took off the front bottom panel and there was enough hair, lint, and dog hair to make a whole new dog. So, you might check into that and see if that helps with your dryer efficiency. It could become a fire hazard, so you might want to check it out.

16 years is a very long time for a washer/dryer. That is so awesome that it has worked so well for so long. My parents washer/dryer also worked for ages - like 20+ years. I think theirs was a Kenmore also.

Check and see if your PUD offers any discounts or coupons on purchasing HE appliances. We got a $50 discount from our PUD. So, I imagine others might offer one as well. Also, save the receipts too - because I believe there are also tax discounts. Every penny helps, eh? My sister has had her machines for eons too. They are an old avocado green color. But hey, they work!

I am excited to be getting a new washer tomorrow - but still a little sad to see the old one go. I get attached in emotional ways to objects. It is like a chapter closing in my life, and I find that sad. This was the washer we bought when my husband and I were engaged and moved into our first house. :'(

Well, it is late, so I had better be going for now. Hope everyone has a great evening and lovely Thursday!!!
