Lav Ameraucana help sexing

To be clear, I’m not advocating that the spurs be used as a definitive answer. It’s just another thing to look at that may or may not help. From what I’ve read, spurs can develop as early as 3 months or as late as 9 months depending on the breed. I haven’t done any research on this breed specifically, though. Of course you have to go based on other signs as well, especially the comb and hackle/saddle feathers, but the only way to be 100% sure is to wait for an egg or a crow, although some people even have hens that crow.

The Little Lav was 16 weeks yesterday. Thank you all for the feedback! I was leaving the house right then & it was taking too long to load the pics through my BYC app! They kept getting errors & I had to run w/what had loaded! Here are the rest of the shots. I’m so grateful for this community, and how active & helpful you all are!

At 16 weeks it makes it awkward as that could be a slow maturing cock or an early maturing pulley. How long has that comb been that pink?
It’s been like that for about a week. Here’s a shot of its comb from July 14, at 14 weeks.

Age is the biggest question that needs to be answered. Either that's a pullet who's around 20 weeks and getting close to lay, or that's a cockerel around 9 weeks.

Also, he wouldn't have spurs this young, and spurs aren't a very good indicator of gender anyway. I have a 2+ yr old hamburg hen with a spur.
The darlin’ is 17 1/2 weeks today...

My guess would be a very nice looking pullet. Her comb, in my opinion, is at the size it should be for her age. Her tail isn't starting to tilt upward as would an average cockerel's. The hackle feathering seems rounded- an average identification assumption.

Best of luck and God bless.

Derrr. Ok I counted wrong! 17 1/2 weeks today

Guess I should add mine were hatched early march 2018 I did not get my first blue egg until almost December 2018. I have EE that were the same (green eggs) they do take longer to lay. I think if it were a cockerel the comb would be really red by now. So I am voting pullet
