Lav Split Silkie and Black Silkie?

I heard!! COngrats!!! 13 of them were the splits and 2 of them were from my pure pen. I have not tested fertility on those at all as I was waiting until they really started to lay-I have a few more that have not laid at all and its going past 8 months now!-I hope my roo was doing his job

he's not very manly in that aspect

Okay,

So If I breed a Lav to a Black the chicks will be Lav split and Black and there is no way of telling the splits from the blacks. So that means I will have to "test" them to see who is black and who is lav split correct?

50% splits
25% pure lavs
25% pure blacks

If you breed a split back to the pure Lav
you will get 75% pure lavs and 25% splits again

I got 2 Supposedly Lav split to black silkies. So I have to breed and breed to tell If these are really splits right. I have to know who and what get bred together so I know for a fact he are split.
