I boil my no shows and quitters from the bator and feed then to the chicks.Almost... Some of my duck eggs get boiled and fed BACK to the chickens...

That's actually a rather good idea! Boiled and mashed egg was my flock's first "treat" anyway - good way to not let anyone go to waste (well, figuratively - not really technically LOL)
I found my failure-to-thrive lavender chick dead this morning. She/he was a cute little bugger, but really it was just as well. I had been nursing her along and making sure she wasn't pushed away from the feed, but she was just not growing. I'm surprised she made it a full four weeks. So far, everyone else appears to be doing well.
Y'all made me laugh when I saw this!!! LOL!!I always wondered what her birds would look like with a different photographer.Glad you posted them.Very nice.

I'm not completely out of the picture, it seems.....just hatched twelve and there is a lone little lavender in the bunch. Guess it's just meant to be.... LOL Most of them will be sired by this guy.... a Smith black..... I listed him and a black female as an available pair for sale, but no one responded so I guess I'll just have to keep him LOL.
