Lavender Ameraucana Breeders .... UNITE

Pics
In the Brinsea I've got them all vertical, large end up - have since day one. The air cells were just so wonky :( But like I said, we've got some that are showing some real progress and promise, so all may not be lost! I did want to high-five the postal worker in the face that turned the box all crazy on the scale when I went to pick it up, though. LOL

My light is 210 lumen I think? I'll agree the blue eggs are a little more difficult than my tiny bantam off-white eggs. But turning it around gently allowed me to make sense of what all was going on in there. Going to peek again the night before we go into lockdown.

And Pallet Queen - I just got a delivery today of 9 pallets, all in great shape, for breeding pen building project soon to happen.

I dont have it on my phone but insert thumbs up smiley here. Hubby is getting the truck and trailer ready so i can go get some pallets to amke brooders. They are 4x4x2 plywood boxes witha pallet bottom but it is solid bottom. I usually just add some plastic liner and heat, food, and water they are good to go then.

My first hatch EVER went into lockdown Sunday evening. Started with 10 eggs, 8 made it to lockdown. Yesterday 2 hatched! One Lav and one Lav split! Such an amazing experience! This morning I woke up to 2 more! One of each again! So 2 Lavs and 2 splits total! Two eggs had pipped when I left this morning, the other two had nothing yet. Today is day 21, I can't wait to get home! :D

I love hatching eggs. Very similar here, three the first day, two the second, two last night.. only two eggs left now but these were eggs a stupid broody switched nests on me on day 18, so I may have one that died when she let it get too cold... Not Ameraucanas (they are EE x Isbar), but still fun!

Paul Smith is where i got these chicks. Cant wait to see them grow up! Maybe i can send pics to fig and goose and she can post them. I will get some tomorrow.....before i fill the brooder to overflowing with mine that are hatching.

Congrats! On your babies! I just hatched some Shaffer babies! And before that some crystal creek I have blacks and lavs...need to get a count.. They are precious! Already have feathers! Woo hoo!

I'm getting a few Lav and a lot of splits. That's OK, I'm hoping for a few good splits for breeding next year. I have 2 Lav hens and one of them is broody sitting on 7 eggs.

This is 1 of the 2 Lav roos I have left from the order from Paul Smith. I'm hoping he turns out nice.

I want to get everyone's thoughts on one of my chicks. I hatched her

from some beautiful lite blue eggs I was told would be lavender Ameraucana chicks. I ended up with 4 lavender and one black /lavender split. I only kept her so I really hope she is a she and a true Ameraucana and not an EE (I have an EE already). I guess either way she's a keeper! BTW she is 4wks old and the fluff around her face is white it just looks kinda yellow in the pic. Thanks for your help
