He hatched October 2nd. He came from a lady that bought shipped eggs. She spent $25 and this was the only one that hatched. She sold him to me at a week old for $10. I will be gifting her a couple of chicks from him once I get some.

You said earlier he was from a BYC member, yes? That wouldn't happen to be the one with the username 'girlchick', would it by chance?

Is anyone raising Lavenders with true "blue" egg color?

"blue" is in the eye of the beholder. I have a lot of varieties of blue egg layers, including 3 types of Lavender Ams (bantam, LF and silkied LF). Their eggs vary a bit in the amount of green vs blue, but I would say they are equivalent to my black and silver ams and my Cream Legbars. I have gotten very few eggs from the LF, but more from the splits (blacks that are het for lavender) and they look quit blue to me.

I also think it's a boy. Wide, pink comb and pointy hackles. Looks like the start of a few saddle feathers, too. Sorry!

I'd say cockerel due to his feathering, color shading and bright comb... 3 rows of peas has no bearing on gender...
