I am leaning towards this being a Cockerel. He is 5 weeks old and already has a.red comb - I have 4 other's that comb is pinkish and the same age and he's feisty.View attachment 1406475

I agree with SMorrison7k, it would be very helpful to have a comparison photo.I am leaning towards this being a Cockerel. He is 5 weeks old and already has a.red comb - I have 4 other's that comb is pinkish and the same age and he's feisty.View attachment 1406475
Thank you for your input. I am thinking I have 4 hens and 1 Cockerel. But time will tell. From what I can see in the comparison photo, it looks like a cockerel to me. They are all very pretty.
I agree with you on both. It is super difficult for me to get good pictures of mine. They seem to all be camera shy at my house, lol. Just when I think I have a pretty good shot, they move and it is gone before I snap it. I also agree that all the others look more like hens. Good luck with your beauties!Thank you for your input. It's hard to get them to stand still to take a.picture- the one in question really has a different personality than the other ones.

Thank you all! I bought the eggs from Craigslist, they all hatched! One baby I believe was taken by a snake disappeared without a trace - plus i found a snake sleeping in a nest box it had eaten a ceramic egg and chick was missingWhat a gorgeous flock!
