Chirping
I have Lavender Orpingtons and Sapphire Gems and my color combination was interesting. My pullets seem to be all black if they do not take the Sapphire Gem coloring, but the males are black with fiery colors it's really pretty even the pattern on the feathers are cool. The very middle is black with a yellow orange "ring" and then outlined in black again. The black feathers have a very prominent green tint to them unlike my other black birds with blue or a not as noticeable green. It may be hard to capture in my photos below but I tried to choose the best with good visuals.
This is a photo of my four recent hatched. One is a pure bred Lavender the other three are cross breed. Two have taken the coloring of their mothers while one is black showing different traits. I want to say they are recessive, but since out of the 7 chickens that are crosses 4 are black I cannot tell what traits are what.
These are my older cockerels and pullet of the cross breeds. My all black with green tint pullet is very dodgy when I pull out my camera .
The one with the apron is a cross breed that took the ccolor and pattern of her mother, but she is larger and fluffier. Makes me think of "poof" and being hit with a giant fluffy petticoat everytime I see her .
