It's a cockerel. At 6 weeks you could see the wattles popping, and now they are much bigger and redder. While most combs do become a brighter red, I have had a few that are a little paler.
 
Much appreciated, still no red in the comb but the wattles are bit red
I have Blacj /lavender Orpingtons they are hens now 9 weeks old. Have no come yet like your first picks at all. My guess for sure is you have a rooster hands down and that was before I saw all the posts.
 
So pretty sure i got an egg today... extremely odd because she is only about 3 months now. I have 2 silkies with her and they are laying but have small eggs. Perhaps one of them made an very large egg? Anyone hear of silkies laying extra large eggs every once in a while?
