Lavender Orpington Gender?

Well. it's official Charlotte is a cockerel. This morning at 8 weeks and 2 days he tried out is first crow a few times. How very funny they sound in the beginning.

No sound yet from Holly, but I am sure it is only a matter of time.

Will give the official word on Holly once he confirms himself. Thanks to everyone that gave their opinion on them, the majority were right. At least now I will have these pictures to refer to when we try to hatch out some more.

Hi,

I am really hoping to be able to tell if either or both of these are cockerels before they start to crow.

I really thought I had one of each, but now the comb and waddle seems too big and pink for the age. These two are 4 weeks today.
Holly is the first one, Charlotte is in the back.

Holly looks like what everyone says is a cockerel from the tail and her stance. Charlotte looks like a pullet from the back. Her tail fathers came in faster. Their wing feathers came in different too.

Holly is less chesty then Charlotte, but oh that comb and waddle? So, I know it is early and Lavenders can be hard to sex, but these two have always been so different right from hatch day, they have the same parents. Thoughts? Thanks for any ideas given. hope everyone has a great night.
One has a straight cone the other has a rounded cone.

I'm thinking that their still to young to say for sure on gender. Yes I do see some wattles slowly growing in but I would wait and post in about another week or two. By then you should know what you have! Very pretty chicks you have there! Here is a pair of my Lavender Orps,

I knowthis thread is super old, but one of 5 if my chicks has no visible comb, just black beak like the one on the right. the supplier messed up my order anand sent me lavenders instead of speckled sussex females.. so I'm hoping they arent mostly male! so long question long.. the one on the right, is that one female? do the dark combs mean anything?
