Braclin you must select against it and use the better feathered Lav aka (SELF-BLUE) birds in your breeding pens only. it will and can be corrected if you do this when crossing back against good blacks. However i believe you will always see this in a small % of offspring and one must just select wisely when re breeding them and hatch lots for select-ability..
One thing i can say its less seen in hard feathered birds like our Lav araucana project, yes it is there but not as much seen as with the orps at this time. If you look at some of the Loose feathered UK lav birds you can see they still have the same problem there as well, of course some will not show many pic's or only show you pic's they want you to see, but you can bet it is there...

There is a gene for brown eye, but I can't remember to much about it. I'll have to look it up. Eye color is also associated with the E locus alleles (black produces darker eyes) and genes like dominant white will dilute the eye color. I would expect blue and lavendar to do this too.
