Lavender Orpington seeming to have difficulty pooping

Update:

I cleaned the poo off of her bum and checked for and egg. I was in past my first knuckle and I could not feel any egg. I took this video of her bum when I was done. I believe she is expelling air. It seems like she is OK now.

I wonder if this is what you've seen Bob.
This is normal egg laying.
Notice in the final picture the hens vent is still distended. It takes a few minutes for the vent to return to it's usual condition.
With a dirty bum and a few feathers messed up this can look quite alarming if you haven't seen it before.

Hi Bob, how is Hattie today?

Thank you for asking. Hattie is back to fairly normal. She has not laid an egg that i can tell since the incident. She seems a little light on energy right now and won't come anywhere near me. She even has the whole flock avoiding me now.

Here they were this morning avoiding me.

She may just need a few days rest. It looks like they might have been spooked by something and that’s why they’re hiding. Mine do that when there are hawks around or some loud noises are happening.
