Lavender Orpington Sex

So, my “pullet” that looks a lot like yours got DNA tested and turned out to be… a roo :(

We were pretty certain not only because of the much faster growing comb and pinkening waddle than the other chicks, but also because of his big feet, upright position, and how he honestly just kinda acted like… a cock! You know! From 2 weeks old. I can’t give much input not knowing your chick’s behavior, but our gut feeling about little Coconut turned out correct.

Any update on your LO? Your post is giving me hope!

Here is our Penelope. She is 6 weeks old. Large comb but not very red. I'm super worried though because she is my daughter's favorite. Plus the speckled Sussex in the photo is her bff and the other 4 chicks (all 2 weeks older) kind of pick on the two of them. We can't have roos and I really don't want to split them up. 🤞

Sorry she is a he… he started crowing at about 11 weeks
