lavender silkies

Rounded crest, lack of pointed hackles, saddles, and sickles, size of comb and wattles. The general body shape suggests female.

Can you post pics of yours?

I have just figured out how to email pictures but do not know how to post. is posting hard? also can you tell the sex of showgirls? they are 4 1/2 mos. I think they are girls. the combs are flat. I have a 5 1/2 month old silkie who has a huge rounded crest that I am positive is a roo at least he has the comb and hackles of a roo. what is a sickle?

Do you have the pics uploaded to a photo hosting site like photobucket? If so, all you have to do is copy and paste the "IMG" link into a post and the pics will show up.

yes, black is the best. I can't remember where I read it but lav has some relation to the black gene, I just can't remember what it was

I guess I will have to check that out when the kids go to bed.

I have a really nice silkie that is half black and half red. could I breed her to a lav or would that mess genetics up to breed offspring back to mom?

they all look like girls to me. I will try to post a pic of the 1 off color showgirl I kept, of course it's a roo

. If you need a roo for them let me know, I have too many, I was really hoping it was a girl. He had partridge markings but grew in red. I will try later tonight to get a pic of him, his comb is very large and he hatched with those showgirls if they are the ones you got from me. Where did you get that silkie, she is pretty

They're all partridge, and all females. You can post multiple pics in each post to save time

here is a pic of the partridge I got from you. he is very tiny and does not know he is a roo yet. on the left is the blue that you thought was a pullet. you were correct. the black I picked up at a swap when she was 6wks old. there were 15 to choose from so I took the one with the biggest topknot and crossed my fingers that it was a girl.
