Anyone use lavender plants in their run? Its supposed to keep flies and mosquito away

Haven't heard that but my chickens devour any flies or anything that makes the mistake of flying by. If lavender works for mosquitoes I'm going to plant a ton by my son's sandbox though!

Well the ones I had were a cross, didn't help much with flies but my chickens decide one morning to devour both of them then Break all the branches lol
