Hi all,

We are newbies and just learning about raising chickens.

We will be relocating to work in Chicago in the fall and are considering buying at least 5 acres in SE WI (mainly in the Racine and Kenosha countys) or renting in either Buffalo Grove, Wheeling, Deerfield, Northbrook areas in Lake and Cook countys IL.

Could you please help us find online the laws for chickens in these areas? I would really appreciate it!! Being a foreigner I do not understand local governments here!!

This is a wonderful site!! I have ideas on a chicken coop and which chickens to buy for our children!!

Thank you.

I know Madison, the state's capital, allows hens. I will check around some more. I think Madison may be a bit far for you to drive.

contact Kathleen O Leary PO Box 14990, West Allis, WI 53212 she was involved with the WI State Fair and she probably belongs to a chicken club and could probably get you in contact with some sources

Seymour, Wi is east of here but I don't know if that one is south enough either: That is where the only flock of bantam Lamonas lives

www.thecitychicken.com Don't lnow if you know about this one
