Layer crumble and cracked corn. Ok to leave out?

I normally leave out the crumble in a feeder for my hens. And in the mornings and in the day toss out some cracked corn for them to scavenge for. They seem to love it.

I was wondering if it is ok diet-wise, for the hens to have all around access to both crumble and corn. Will they eat both? Will they get a proper balanced diet? I am just worried that they may fill up on the corn and not eat what is more nutritionally balanced.

What do you guys say? Does anyone leave cracked corn out for their hens?

Thanks

Yeah, they'd fill up on corn. Just keep doing what you are doing so they don't put on too much winter weight and have laying problems in the spring due to build up of fatty tissue on the ovaries.

I buy broken bags of millet wild bird feed when the feed store has them. Theyʻre usually at least half off and the birds love to scratch for the millet. I donʻt know the nutritional values vs. cracked corn, but no one seems fat or lazy.
