I have a black australorp (Moe) that has decided to be a broody hen. We have no roosters so those eggs will never hatch! I keep taking her off the nesting box and now she won't eat and has isolated herself from the rest of the girls. What should I do now???

My broodies usually eat and drink when I take them off the nest. If you want to break her broodiness put her in a pet carrier with food and water surrounded by the other chickens. Don't put lots of bedding in there. They say you should kind of cool them off. some folks actually put them in an enclosure with a wire bottom.
