I have a Silver Laced Cochin, 2 Welsummers, 2 Plymouth Barred Rocks, a Mottled Brahma, and a French Black Copper Marans. The Plymouth Barred Rock hens are about 10 or so weeks old, and the rest are all about 13 weeks old.
Who do you think will start laying first? Is there an average age for each breed that laying may start?

Plan on 24 weeks that way a few may be a pleasant surprise providing eggs earlier. Nothing you have is a ubber early layer. ISA Browns and others can lay earlier than 20 weeks of age.

Your Brahma and your Cochin are likely to take a lot longer to start laying.
This year is my first with large Cochin's so I am not sure on them. My Brahma all started between 7 and 10 months.

I think your welsummer is likely going to be your first layer followed closely by the barred rock. They should be laying by 26 weeks. I don't have marans so not able to guess on them.

First eggs are always exciting! My Barnevelder is getting close at a mere 18 weeks. She has started egg squatting and has red comb and wattles. First of that breed for me so super excited. Her sisters are large Cochin's and they are no where near ready but super pretty anyway.

Definitely post when they do start so we can celebrate with you!
