Hey! I heard somewhere that chickens lay their eggs better when it's quiet and dark. Is that true? If not what makes chickens better layers?

Chickens like to find a secluded spot, hidden away, to lay their eggs but they will lay eggs where ever they can when the need arises. I have found eggs in the middle of the coop or run floor. Most of the time they are in a nest box or hidden in my haystack.

What chickens need most to be good layers is good nutrition, parasite control and good housing that allows for minimal stress.
