I have a year old pair of Royal Palm Turkeys. My hen started laying eggs in the last week of February and layed about 5 eggs a week. She would go broody probably once in about every 10 days. I wouldn't let her sit on them and she continued to lay. Then it got sporadic- a few a week here and there and now she hasn't been laying for probably about 3 weeks. I don't understand why she stopped laying eggs so early. I thought Royal Palms layed throughout the summer until fall. Can anyone help? Thanks

Mine are in full production right now. A few want o go broody but I try to break that up if I can. They wil slow down or stop mid summer. I am still having frost here. We have a late spring that starts in a few weeks, and last a day or two. Fall is a good time for mine.

You can up the protein to keep them laying if your not already feeding a high protein diet.

I live in the high desert in CA. I am at 4,500 feet elevation right below the San Bernardino Mountain and 200 miles from Las Vegas.
