Laying shell-less eggs AFTER roosting for the night

We went out to check on our chickens tonight after they had all roosted and we found 3 shell-less eggs under their roosts. Is this normal? I know soft shelled eggs are normal but why would they lay them while roosting? Two of the eggs broke when they hit the litter but the third one was still intact. Weird!

Same thing happened to me last week, one girl laid an egg with no shell and the other laid a thin shelled egg that looked like rubber. Found them on the poop board in the morning as they laid them while roosting. They're both young - I just got them last month and they'd never laid for me at all until then.

One is now laying regular eggs with good shells about every other day. The other still isn't doing anything. I think the move along with about 3 horrific heat waves turned my girls off laying for a while. I'm hopeful my last late bloomer will soon catch up.
