Laying status of ducks, skeletal clues apply?

Was going to ask if your 'not laying' duck was young(pre-lay) or older.
The next ones I check will be two young Muscovies that are not laying yet and a young mule duck that just started laying.

first two checked
  1. Mature Muscovy actively laying is 3 fingers for both
  2. Mature Muscovy not laying is barely one finger for the pelvic and two fingers for the breast.
Sweet, Thanks so much!
I have only ever checked the between pubic bones.

More cases would confirm. One case alone is not enough to confirm. Especially since muscovies aren't exactly the same as mallard derived breeds.

Of course more cases would be good...do you have ducks?
Hopefully more will chime in.
But I'm pretty convinced despite that a muscovy is not a mallard, nor is it a chicken.
It makes sense that any egg layer's anatomy works about the same.
