Laying status of ducks, skeletal clues apply?

I've had fowl a long time, , and have never checked a duck. I'd make the assumption, but we all know what 'assuming' does to us.

Interesting question! I have three the same size, one laying, two not laying, so I will see if there is a difference between them.

Most my experience is with pullets coming near and into lay.
I have checked a few molting/out of lay adults during winter and the spacing does get smaller again.
Haven't checked enough to know the timing tho.

Was going to ask if your 'not laying' duck was young(pre-lay) or older.
