If you can find it... yes, please. Not sure what exactly he will be able to come up with at the store there. Although there should be fluid replenishment at the pharmacy if nothing else. But would be handy to have the recipe here.

I have not tried any of the homemade solutions, so I don't feel comfortable trying something that I have not used many times.

I have used it many times for calves, lambs, goat kids and on a litter of puppies with parvo. I had about 90% success rate. (The litter of puppies belonged to a friend who did not believe in vaccinations.). My thought was that the homemade solution would be better than plain water. Also, when I was in WV, my vet suggested using the solution, at least until he could get there.

Okay, so my gut feeling is that there are a few things going on with this bird. The combo of metronidazole and Baytril with treat blackhead and many other possible bacterial infections, but it will not treat coccidiosis, which is also a possibility. Sulfa's and amprolium can be used to treat coccidiosis.

I think if he were mine I would give one of these three to four times a day with fluids.
