Hi, Everyone! I've been accessing BYC for some time now for information on our new additions. You are, without a doubt, the best source for chicken info on the internet!
I plan to ask for help a number of times, starting with my Cleo who may be a Leo. We started with 3 chicks from a feed and supply store. We lost the Barred Rock to some illness at about 4 weeks. Then we lost the Australorp to our own dog at 2 months. We refortified the run and then built a new coop. We got 2 more chicks from a private supplier. One is a blue Cochin (probably a roo) and the other a buff Orpington (hopefully a pullet).
I have 5 kids: one is in college, 2 in high school, one in middle school, and the youngest will be 3 in Nov. I'm married to an Army soldier who has supported my hairbrained schemes from "Let's have a big family!" to "Let's get chickens!"
I'm really happy to be on board with such a great community!
