Hello All! My name is Michelle and I'm happy to meet you guys.
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? Sort of. I had a flock 2 years ago and something got them all in one night. It was horrible. So I got some chicks at the beginning of the year and am giving it a go once more.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now? I originally had 12. One died while still a chick, the others were just fine. I got close to one particular chick and her name is Henrietta. She is sassy and full of spunk and loves to talk back and be petted. Well about 2 weeks ago something got ahold of my ladies and destroyed them. Then my Henrietta came running to me. She was the only one to survive. So I decided I was done with chickens but my friend didnt want her chicken or her rooster so I took them. I'm a sucker, lol. So I went from 12 to 11 to 1 to 8 ladies and 1 roo.
(3) What breeds do you have? I cant remember but they are something with initials... like A something something. They are the brown and white ones.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens? Eggs and they are just fun to watch.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies? Camping, crafting
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. In my house we have myself and husband, mother in law, son. My daughter and grandson live across the road so basically at my house all day as well. We have 5 dogs, 50 gallon fish aquarium with goldfish and koi. My neighbor has a cat that wont go home so..... I am disabled so I just do as much as my body will let me, lol.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? I have a strange question so I googled it and it brought it me here. Started reading and got hooked. Seems like a nice and knowledgeable group of people.
