good day. My name is Ken. I am retired - 24 years military (Infantry) and 9 years EMS (Paramedic). I got chicken in May for the first time. I have 1 rooster named Maverick, 1 large black hen Maggie (no idea what kind), 1 large blonde hen Marilyn ( again no idea what kind), 3 Leghorn hens - Polly, Patty and Penny, and 7 ISA Browns - Mavis, Molly, Marge, Sue, Sally, Sis and Sniffles. I know - don’t name your chickens - but my wife beat me too it - so when she lets them out in the morning she addresses each one by name as the step out for the day. I also have 12 Common Quail (in a separate enclosure). I am learning everyday something new - I often find my self drinking morning coffee just watching them - anxious for the next couple eggs to come. I think it’s cool that they provide me with eggs of their own signature everyday.
I’m looking forward to hearing more stuff to learn and maybe I’ll be able to help out? Thx

Ken

Welcome!

Chickens are a real hoot to watch. I have learned tons here. Always room to learn more. :)

Our Malamute has a similar routine. No coffee for her though. She runs out, does her business and heads to the chicken tv. Lol she only gets one channel and it is always the same soap opera on. :lau
