LeasureChix and Quail_Antwerp Admitting we have a problem hatchalong...

I have 100% development in the chocolate project Ameracauna eggs from pips&peeps! First time ever to have 100% develop from shipped eggs! Hope the hatch is just as good!

My Bantam Welsummer eggs are looking great as well!
And I have probably close to 50 more eggs coming - Orps, Wellies, and Cochins! Woot!

My husband has a garage coming in like 3 days or so, and a local crew is going to build it for him. It will take 9 days to get built, and DH said he'll vacate the storage barn he's currently using for his tools, etc. Re-design it to have ventilation and a window, and it will become mine to do what I want with! whoot!

My first eggs set are due to hatch this weekend!

Hoping I have a good hatch!!

I'm really excited for you Aly, I hope you have a great hatch. Well, I got my Dickey incubator and hatcher last night. My brother in law is a saint! They strapped one of the units to the top of his poor little Civic! But they made it just fine. I was VERY disappointed at how dirty and kinda mildewy the hatcher is. Both units have been stored out in a barn I guess, they were filthy. Tons of dirt and cobwebs on the egg trays also. I started up the incubator last night and then called Mr. Dickey today to figure out how to operate it. He was SO great! I'm still working on getting the temp correct. I have SO much confidence that my hatch rate is going to skyrocket! I've got eggs that should have been set over the weekend, they'll go in today.

My cochins went on a mini strike but I have just about a decent amount for you. I haven't forgotten.

I just found 14 LCO eggs to buy, they are shipping from WA today. Could be here tomorrow but Friday for sure. I have some incubating now but with all the temp disasters I've had, I'll be amazed if anything hatches. I still have 1 LG forced air going. I'm glad I didn't put it in the "other" new bator I bought. It's shipping out today or tomorrow.

Looks like we are in for some beautiful weather here. Supposed to be 60 tomorrow and no rain in the near future. I love SO OR.

Need pics of your hatch this weekend! How many eggs are making to lockdown?

there are 17 eggs in lock down. 15 Bantam Welsummer and 2 Barred Buff Cochin eggs :)

hey, Julie, I hear peeping in my 'bator! and 2 of my bantam Welsummer eggs are rocking like mad!

Don't you just love it when you hear them peeping in the shell? I'll bet you wake up to chicks tomorrow. I finally got my Aces BLRW eggs into lockdown. It's a day late but honestly with all the bator drama I've had, I'll be amazed if anything hatches. It won't surprise me if mine are really late. I had previously tossed 6 of the original 19. Tonight it looks like 8 are still alive. I put the 5 that were "iffy" in as well, in case I'm wrong. At this point I'll be happy with any live chicks.

Make sure you post pics of your new babies.

My little miracle LA is still doing well with the silkies. It's cute, I lay it on it's back in my hand and it just lays there to be petted. I have more LA eggs in the bator from Nat (Sonew).

Can't wait to see what you end up with! BTW.... there is an ebay auction for 4 chocolate orp eggs. Gorgeous birds! It was over $100 for the 4 eggs when I saw it this morning.

I woke up this morning to 4 Bantam Welsummer chicks, a fifth one pipped, and both of my barred buff bantams are pipped with one trying to zip!

I love that they are finally hatching! It's such a stress reliever for me LOL Now if my chocolate Ameracaunas will hatch so well, I'll be thrilled!

You guys are doing great! Congrats on the new guys!! I had a real lackluster hatch this time, sadly. I got 17 chicks, but out of 24 that made it to lockdown

No good. The one got stuck so I was trying to save his life, which worked by the way, but it has just been a busy hatching week! How are you liking the new cabinet bators??

Also, QuailAntwerp, I wanted to ask you what you do for your chicken food? Do you buy locally around here or mix your own? I was seriously thinking of beginning the buy in bulk and mix your own method but have no idea where to start around here, just asking around to see what other people do, that all!

Well, I just recently started mixing my own, but my local feedmill recently told me they will mix for me, minimum of 500 lbs to be mixed, and they'll deliver to my house. So, that's what I'm going to do. And 500 lbs should last me the whole month :)

Went to a livestock auction last night and I came home with 4 fertile emu eggs.

My husband was even ENCOURAGING me to bid! Also brought home a Buff Sebbie Gander!
