LeasureChix and Quail_Antwerp Admitting we have a problem hatchalong...

I woke up this morning and both of my Barred Buffs have hatched and 2 more Bantam Welsummers. I did a quick candeling last night and I saw at least 2 more B. Welsummers moving in their shell, one of which was peeping at me. Hoping they hatch today!

I can't wait to see how you do with the emus.

As of this morning I still have just 1 of the BLRW chicks. Nothing going on with the other eggs that were due to hatch on Saturday. I'm really torn as to what to do now. Since my lone Lavender Ameraucana hatched 3 days late, I'm hesitant to do anything but wait. I'd like to candle or try the float test but I don't want to jeopardize their chances if the eggs are just slow/late. With all the incubator drama I've had, I'm counting myself lucky to have even 1 chick. I know that 8 of the eggs were alive at lockdown. It sucks to have a lone chick. It is almost a week younger than my LA. The LA is doing well with the silkies but I guess I could try the 2 together.

Aly, are you done hatching your batch? How did the Wellies do?

This morning I woke up to another Bantam Wellie chick, and my first choc ameracauna project chick hatched!

Now, a couple hours later, I have had a second Ameracauna hatch, another one is zipping, 2 more are pipped, and another Wellie is pipped.

I had about 30 eggs set for Valentines Day. So far, not so much as a pip. I have lavender silkie eggs due tomorrow. Fingers crossed on those ones. I have a TON of eggs due to hatch next Wednesday.

More coming?? Why of course! 6 brown Chinese goose eggs, a dozen (or more I think) BBS cochins and a dozen Tolbunt Polish. Woo Hoo! Good times. Guess I better get back to building pens!

Aly, how are your babies?

I had to look up Tolbunt Polish when you first told me about them, and I think I maybe have talked my husband in letting me order some LOL

My hatch went well. I had 10 out of 14 of the project chocolate Ameracaunas hatch. I have 8 Bantam Welsummers hatched. Right now my Silver Dorkings are hatching. Only 3 of those eggs made it to lock down.

I tried to candle the cochin eggs, but it is a little hard to see in them. I also have 2 more of my Barred Buff eggs in there.

Oh and BBS Orps.
