I have always been in the habit of leaving their food and water out in the coop at night, but I have always wondered why. They don't eat at night and it would just be an attractant for rodents. Does anybody put their food away at night?

Here is a link to another thread and my answer to your question that I just typed out for another!!!!

I don't - - - I feed at night. If I put it up at night, then I would have to go out in the morning it feed up. That is kinda hard to do when I usually leave before the sun comes up.

mine have food and water inside the coop 24/7. during the summer we put water outside too.. afraid of mice if food is outside.. if anything came inside it would just be considered their dinner lol..
