Lebanon Indiana Poultry Show!!!

HaHa! If you go to the show alone and you see a chickie you really like just say to him.. "She/he was unwanted

nobody wanted her/him. She/He looked so sad. Nobdy was going to take her/him". That will make him feel sorry for the poor chickie.

This may be a dumb question, but I am asking anyway. If you buy any chickens what do you do with them? Do you just carry them to your vehicle and put them in the cages you have brought? What if the weather is cold and you cannot leave them in the vehicle for a long time? I just need to know how to do this before I get there. TIA for your answers.

I have never been to this show before but I'm guessing that after the judging chickens will start selling. You can probably just bring in your carrier and pay the person and then just put the birds in the carrier or box. You can probably keep the birds you bought inside for awhile till everyone clears out. I've heard they also have chicks for sale there to, but not sure going to find out on Saturday! :d Hope to see some BYC fans there!

That won't fly anymore! Been there, done that and he's learned to put his foot down.

So the show starts at 6:30 AM, what time does the judging start? Can you buy birds all day long, or do they hold the birds untill after the show? I live outside Louisville, so it will be a 2hr drive for me, and I don't think I can get my hubby out of bed and into the car at 4:30 AM. I want to get there early because I want to buy some birds.

Who is selling birds? What do you have?
I am loking for Ameraucanas, Wellsummers, SLW- all hens.

We are going to the show. My son is going to show a black Ameraucana rooster and hen. My little sister is also going. She is showing 3 black bantam Ameraucana hens. This is my first show. I hope I do things right. It will be a great learning experience. We are leaving Saturday morning. It is a long drive. It should be a fun, but long day.

It will be really fun is what I've heard from other people. Kids if their in the 4-H can do showmanship. They usually give out trophies and ribbons to the winners.

Turtleblossom:

The earlyer you get there and see what their is for sale the better chance you have of getting it. If you see a bird you want contact the owner(should be a sales tickets on the cage with his or her contact number or speak to......) I believe their not selling any birds untill after the judging. Judging starts at 9am. For those who are bringing their birds on Saturday the day of the show must be checked in before 9am or else you can't enter. Don't worry it sounds like it's going to be a blast. Don't forget to wash your birds lol.

Oh glorious day!!! My wonderful husband has decided that we should leave this evening and get a hotel room in lebanon just so I can get to the show early on saturday! This is the guy who wouldn't dream of admitting to anyone that he likes my chickies, although I see him petting them all the time.
