Can I send you a pm?I’m in Lehigh Acres and want chickens as well. I’ll help anyway I can!
me toooo. I just think Lee County continues to grow at such a pace and I think its going to become even harder to realize the kind of lifestyle many people want - we had to go country and leave coastal behind but are much happier...lots of places still wild and beautiful here in central FL. Good luck!More than a decade ago my mom was interviewed on the local news as part of an effort to make backyard chickens legal in Lehigh. It was no use at the time. It's so densely packed with retirees who feel it's beneath their retirement standards in their neighborhoods. We moved to central Fl where there's lots of agricultural areas.
I don't believe AG-2 has limitations. You'll need to meet setback requirements.I am looking to move to the Lee County area. I have found a piece of property that is zoned AG-2. How many chickens are we allowed to have and can I have roosters? Thank you for your help.
Please be careful. Make sure the girls are well hidden.I live in lehigh and have been responsibility keeping hens behind my privacy fence for 7+ years with no issues. In the past 2 years Cubans have moved into my neighborhood and they let there hens/roosters free range with no coop. I feel like if Lee county doesn't allow the responsible citizens to keep hens they will cause Ferrell chickens to be everywhere. I wont turn them in because I would be a hypocrite but because of the current no chickens allowed it is affecting the whole neighborhood with unwanted roosters coming into our yards. I'm a conservative and whole heartily believe you should be able to do as you wish on your property as long as it doesn't affect anyone else
What is the 4-h loop hole because I have even looked at that route in Lee county and was told no. I live just outside the city limits of fort Myers where you can have 4 chickens but not in Lee county. Also, would the chicken laws apply to quails?I have chicken and quails. Quails are laying chicks are not older enough. My son is also in 4-H, loophole.
However I want those who want them to have them. Well most people anyway.
I am also for educating others AND safety of the fluffy butts.
So......how many chickens can you have down there in naples?
I need to find someone close, who could take chickens IF they were taken from someone not property caring for them.
I am absolutely thinking of every avenue and have a plan in place!
