leg band sizes

what size leg band to use on day old baby chicks? I'm in day 17 of 48 hatching and after they are sexed I want to put a band on the males Oh and the chicks are Australorp and Plymouth Rock

I use zip ties for young chicks replacing as they grow then around 8 - 12 weeks their regular bands. I add a second zip tie to my boys, You could probably use size 7 bandettes on chicks over 3 weeks and then change them when they get snug. Jus remember to keep a close eye because they grow fast.
