Too many says my husband ahahaa.. :lau

I have 8 bearded black and 4 bearded cuckoo in the incubator now, 6 that are 17 days old, 3 juveniles, and I'm placing an order for some chicks and/or juveniles here in a few weeks. I'm getting my base foundation in order and plan to breed and show next year which means I'll probably double that number next year. :rolleyes:
 
Oh, yes. The more the merrier. I've only got about 10 marans right now, which is not near enough. So I was telling someone I was planning to hatch more. They asked how many and I said 32. Mother dear almost threw a fit.

Hah! Totally relatable! My husband keeps asking how many I plan on having or hatching and I have to keep reminding him that the old saying goes: "hatch 100 chicks & only 5 will be show quality.. that's just how it works when you show & breed them." He just rolls his eyes and retorts: "Are you REALLY going to be hatching 100 chicks?? :smackMy sister also thinks I'm 100% nuts with my chicken obsession lol.. :lau

Ha, yeah. Then what do you do with 95 chickens? That's another reason I like Marans. You can eat 'em.
