Leg bands for chickens

Thanks for the info about the pecking. I've just seen pecked chicks for sale at the feed store last year, and I didn't want to do anything to encourage that kind of aggression in mine.

The silly things peck at ANYthing on me that they don't think "belongs."

I think I'll look into the velcro ones too.

I made mine out of the velcro and painted things on the outside of them, so I could use the four colors to tell my 10 barred Rocks and 8 RIR's apart. Here's the thead with what I did and some pics...

Mulemom, I love those ideas! I have my water on one paver, but I'm going to set up some more cuz I am tired of getting scratched. Great idea!

And my dd likes the bands too. We're going to have to make some of those. We're starting to name the chicks, and we need to be able to tell them apart.

I just found out today that her "SuzieQ" and my "Sweetie" are the same bird!
